Textile Engineering College in India – PIET

While the fabric art has been an indigenous industry for quite long, it turned into engineering after about 8000 years since it was known to exist. That is the reason there are very few Textile Engineering Institutes in India. For the information of my readers I would put on record that for Haryana dwellers Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET), 70 mile stone, Pattikalyana, Panipat is one of those few colleges and is rated the Top Textile Colleges in India which offers textile engineering. This institute has to its credit the approval of AICTE, Govt. of India and is affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.
PIET introduced this rare stream of textile keeping considering Panipat as a textile hub for North India and being one of the largest exporters of cotton fabrics, drapery and upholstery to many European countries and America because even today the people of the world love Indian cotton fabrics as this country has been on top for many centuries in the art of hand spun and woven cloth, especially Muslin Cloth, which was a specialized skill of this country only. The historians have recorded the facts that cotton fabrics in India date back Indus Valley Civilisation around 5000 B.C.
In the current era fabrics and garments engineering certainly enjoys a much greater scope because these are now a thing of fashion and hence a big business. This change started coming around the 14th century, the time when mechanization process came into being. Certainly the scope is much greater on home land because of various climates, regions, festivals and events. Indians are famous for their love for dresses, particularly during wedding celebrations. The desert area people are fond of colourful clothes and this is so because they want to fill the gap created by nature as we all know sandy lands are barren where no plants or flowers bloom. Same way friends and relatives of the wedding parties wear gorgeous dresses to show their affiliation to the ceremonies. Indian fabrics are but a fancy with the white races and this has helped in growth of manufacture and growth of export sales in the region and in turn was the cause of coming up of such an institute as PIET is, nicety in all aspects, be it location, infrastructure, ichnography, teaching modules, labs, workshops, faculty team, customized programs etc.
Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET), the Top Textile Colleges in India is the best gift of Vidiyapetth Society (VPET) to the residents of Haryana, Delhi and other states situated nearer to the North Zone to actualize the dreams of many a thousand, especially girl students from rural background who were hitherto forced to bury their dreams alive under the heaps of orthodox customs, financial constraints and so many more barriers. And the institute level of education has achieved greater altitudes because I was told that 33% of the current batch in final have been places in best of industries like Arvind and Nahar, credit for which goes to the Training & Placement cell who organize the campus placement drives regularly.
